In elementary (K-5th grade), we learned that disciples of Jesus are never too busy help others. I know that I frequently find myself with a lot of things on my plate, with just a sliver of space left for other people. Well, you know how you, parents, give out the Clean Plate Award after dinner? I think that’s something we should do for ourselves, so that we have more time for the important people in our lives. Obviously, there’s some things that can’t be taken off the schedule; we need to do things like work, sleep, and eat. We even need some down time for ourselves. But, whatever is left needs a second look. We need other people, and other people need us. So, we need to make time for those people and let them know that they are important to us.
Family Fun: This Saturday, February 26th, is Carnival Day. Who says you can’t have a fun carnival in the middle of winter? You don’t have to go outside. In fact, you don’t even have to leave your house! You can plan some fun games to play inside, make some popcorn or candy apples, and even have prizes. To make it even more exciting, invite another family to join you! They can bring some of their own fun ideas, too.
