The elementary (K-5th grade) kids learned all about showing kindness to others this week. Sometimes it’s hard to show kindness to people. It’s those days when someone cuts you off in traffic, talks to you like you’re stupid, or gets angry with you for no apparent reason that you really wish you could have a Bruce Almighty moment and move them out of your way. It’s much easier to take revenge than it is to turn the other cheek. But, disciples of Jesus show kindness to others, even if they don’t deserve it. That doesn’t mean you have to allow someone to disrespect you or that you can never address an issue you have with someone. It just means that if and when you do it, you still treat that other person with respect and kindness. They might not deserve it, but things will work out better in the end.
Family Fun: Saturday, January 29th is National Puzzle Day! What a great opportunity for you and your family to have some fun and put a puzzle together. It doesn’t have to be a complicated jigsaw, but just something that you can all participate in! For a fun, lasting memory, buy an inexpensive picture frame and frame your puzzle when you’re done. Not only does this make for some inexpensive wall art, but you’ll have a great story to go with it!
Not sure where to find puzzles? Check out Walmart, Target, Toys ‘R Us, or their corresponding websites for plenty of options!
