Attention all elementary parents! This Sunday, May 8th, all children in K-5th grade will be singing a song upstairs at the beginning of both services. Please make sure your child is checked in to his or her Kidventure classroom by 9:30 a.m. and/or 11:00 a.m. We encourage them to sing in both services! Once they are done singing, they will be escorted downstairs to the main Kidventure classroom where you can pick them up if you so choose. Otherwise, they can stay for an exciting lesson!
This week in both Preschool and Elementary, we kicked off a brand new theme and headed to the Dojo. For eight weeks, we’ll be kicking high, rolling with the punches, and learning how God wants us to live. Not only will we learn some Fruits of the Spirit, like patience and goodness, but we’ll also be learning how important it is to take care of our bodies. After all, in order to be really strong, we have to be fit physically and spiritually.
The elementary kids (K-5th grade) learned all about discipline. In order to become better followers of God, we need to start practicing the basics daily: reading our Bibles, praying, serving others, and telling others about Jesus. Just like a white belt won’t learn a fancy combo move on their first day, as Christians, we won’t automatically be spiritually mature. It takes time and practice. It is only when these basics become second nature that we can completely grow and mature. Here’s a fun family activity from the lesson!
See you Sunday!
