It was my pleasure to have the opportunity to share what God laid on my heart these past two weeks and I pray that you not only learned something, but that you were challenged. In our Pulse series we took a look at our hearts from all sorts of angles because our hearts are truly the center of who we are physically and spiritually. This past Sunday we learned that our heart’s position will determine our heart’s pursuit. As you face the challenges and joys this week brings, let’s remember that our hearts were created to be in a humble position before God. He is with us every step of the way! When we truly invite Christ to be a part of our lives, it’s amazing how we truly desire to know Him more. Our hearts desire to know God increases when we’re willing to share with others what God is doing in our lives. Have you taken an opportunity this week to share with someone what God is doing in your life? If not, I challenge you to take the next opportunity and share with someone what God has been teaching you lately.
With so many pursuits our hearts seem to follow, like the new Blu-ray player, the next car, or that next job promotion, let’s not forget that our hearts were made to pursue God above all else. Proverbs 2:4-5 tells us to pursue God with everything we have, “and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.” What will you do this week to take a step towards pursuing God in your life? Maybe signing up for a Life Group on our website or showing up to our Connections Party this Sunday evening is your next step towards pursuing God. Whatever step you need to take this week to pursue God further in your life, I challenge you to DO IT!!
This Sunday we kick-off our fall series Advance:r12. We are very excited about this spiritual journey we are going to embark on together. All of our life groups will follow along with the Sunday messages Jon will give. The next 2 Sundays provide a great opportunity to invite someone to explore or re-engage faith by inviting them to church with you.
Let me share one quick announcement with you:
Are you new to Prairie Heights or have you attended PHCC for a year and a half or less? Would you enjoy a fun, relaxed event where you can hear the mission of Prairie Heights, connect with some great people who are also new to PHCC, and meet our fall life group leaders? You are invited to a Connections Party THIS Sunday evening, September 12th, at the FargoDome from 6:00-7:30pm. Childcare and snacks will be provided.
Have a blessed week!
