PHCC Update

A number of random things:

1. Two services (9:30am and 11:00am) start again THIS SUNDAY, August 7th!  I am starting a new series called “Five Guys Before Burgers and Fries”.  We will look at the spiritual journeys of five guys in the Old Testament, long before burgers and fries, and learn a lot about how to grow spiritually in 2011!

2. There will be an exciting announcement in church this Sunday about a ticketed event to Celebrate the Grand Opening of the ministry center.

3. Join our facebook page!!  This is a great way to participate in the life of Prairie Heights.

4. I had a blast the last 2 Sundays wrapping up the “Losing My Religion” series with CLOSE TO THE PEW and FAR FROM THE PEW.  The pew, for me, represents my relationship with Christ.  The Apostle Paul said I gave up all that inferior stuff so I could know Christ personally, experience his resurrection power, be a partner in his suffering, and go all the way with him to death itself.” Philippians 3:10  I am so thankful God continues to convict me, correct me, cleanse me, and draw me into a closer relationship with Him!  Last Sunday I shared with you my wife, Teri, and my life verse: “I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some.  I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings.” 1 Corinthians 9:22b-23  The gospel message will never change (the what and the why) but the how should be always changing to reach as many as possible!  This isn’t easy to do.  It involves risk, adventure, being comfortable with being uncomfortable, and deserves our very best.  Anything can become religion (the pew, drinking coffee in service, hymns, rock bands, etc.).  God sent His Son to rescue us from sin and spiritual death and invite us into RELATIONSHIP not RELIGION.

I love you.  I am having the time of my life serving Christ in Fargo-Moorhead and at Prairie Heights.  I pray for God to do a GREAT THING in every church throughout our community.  Let’s join together with all of the Christian churches in Fargo-Moorhead and together see our community radically changed!

See you on Sunday!
